HISTORY

Conn-Area Catholic School has been a vital part of the Connellsville community for 98 years.  The building, formerly known as Immaculate Conception School, had its start in 1911, educating 400-500 students, about 50 per class.  At that time it was staffed by the Benedictine Sisters.

In 1966, it was renamed Conn-Area Catholic School and was comprised of six sponsoring parishes.  These parishes included the former Holy Trinity, Connellsville, Immaculate Conception, Connellsville, St. Aloysius, Dunbar, St. John the Evangelist, Connellsville, St. Rita, Connellsville, and the former St. Vincent de Paul, Leisenring. Conn-Area Catholic School is rich in its history as many generations of its families have passed through its doors.
